The Victim Awareness program curriculum will be delivered to offenders who have been placed on supervision throughout Marion County for an offense that directly involves a victim(s). The curriculum base mirrors the program developed by the Office of Victim Services and the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation & Corrections. This evidence based program will provide an opportunity for the offender to see crime from a different perspective; from the perspective of the victim. Curriculum will be delivered to both male and female offenders, classes will be separated by gender when necessary and will be held once weekly for 13 weeks. Participants will engage in written exercises, class discussions, journaling, role-play and other group activities. Each week participants will have the opportunity to identify with and monitor their thoughts, assumptions, beliefs and behaviors that led up to their involvement and entry into the Criminal Justice System.
